THE NURSE, WIFE, CEO SOCIAL ENTREPRENEUR, SPEAKER AND MUSIC DIRECTOR...
Sara Nana Yeboah is 27 years old
and a third of five siblings born in Germany Hanover to Ghanaian parents. She is
a wife, a nurse at Ridge Hospital, CEO of Sangy Nursing Services, Social
Entrepreneur, Writer, Speaker and a Music Director. Growing up, she had an aim of
becoming a medical doctor or a lawyer, however, her dream was crushed due to
financial challenges. Her dad recommended nursing to her since she knew her to
be an outstanding care giver. Her personal experience seems to have effects on
her therefore after completing Sunyani nursing training in the Brong- Ahafo
Region of Ghana, ’I identified lots of problems faced by the poor and the
needy, notable among them was inadequate access to quality health care’. In
January 2009, she decided and begun a pilot health education and health
screening program in Sunyani, ’the outcome was fantastic’ she said.
After moving to Accra in 2011, she
registered and founded Sangy Health Services (SNS),
a general health care organization which offers medical screening and health
education programs across the country and continent to reduce ignorance on
common health care conditions, reduce unnecessary death and take quality health
services to the doorstep of the ordinary Ghanaian.She believes that one’s
achievement should have positive effect on the society. This has made her
company in the just ended year sign over 600 kids unto the NHIS, paid hospital
bills for the poor as ‘our corporate social responsibility’. On the 19th of this month, her
team organized a free screening program at Tunga, at Dansoman for the poor.
Personally as a social;
entrepreneur, she has helped with the completion of some school by providing
bags of cement and sand in some other cases. Also, she has in the painting of
classrooms, daycare centers, libraries, paid medical and school fees all out of
her salary.
She was named entrepreneur for the
month of November last year by Cecilson Africa. She has been interviewed on
many media podiums such as eTv (awake), womenpreneurs programs, VOA UK radio
program fir African entrepreneurs and radio Nash, Russia.
She has been a major speaker at
many youth conferences including YEPF summit in Buduburam (February 2014),
African entrepreneurial academy official launch (March 2014) and the Accra youth
summit this past march where I happened to meet and speak to her.
She was a delegate at the 2013
African Youth Economic Forum in Ghana and The 2013 presidential Youth Dialogue
at the Flagstaff house in Accra Ghana.
In the just ended month (May), her organization started giving
out over 5000+ uniforms in Ghana beginning from the Northern Region.
